The game begins with a total of zero points, with each player having eleven cards. If you win a contract in round eight, you win. The contracts in round three, four, and eight are two groups of three cards and two sequences of four cards.
The contract in round one is two groups of three cards, the contract in round two is two sets of four cards, and so on. The player who fulfills the most contracts at the end of the round wins. In Shanghai Rummy, each round is composed of a contract.
